Shaping Bright Futures Together

The Snail and the Whale

Our focus this week has been a Class favourite, The Snail and the Whale.  We have been using the story in our phonics, using it as a basis for an I spy game.  In Maths, we have been making jigsaws, working together to create a large picture. Our 30 Day Wild activities have continued with potato digging and printing, den making, cress planting, leaf tapping and using outdoor resources for a rope story.

Our ice cream shop has been enhanced with scented playdough, reminiscent of the some of the different flavours that can be bought.  This has been particularly popular. We have also been using our fine motor skills to make snails out of playdough.

We had transition day on Wednesday, with all of our children going to Holly Class to meet their new teachers.  They all had a lovely time and came back full of excitement.  On Thursday afternoon we spent the afternoon playing with the parachute with Holly Class.  We particularly liked making the balls bounce up and down like popcorn.
