Vision and Values
Ashton under Hill First School is a good school and our mission is to work in partnership with parents and community, to encourage: curiosity, eagerness to learn, resilience, friendship and respect. We work together as a team within a caring environment to support every child to achieve their very best in order to ‘Shape Bright Futures Together’ We are a school where pupils and staff work hard together to raise aspirations and build a lifelong love of learning.
Our vision is to offer our children excellent teaching and learning and the very best learning opportunities in and beyond the classroom. We are a place where everyone’s individuality is valued and supported, which allows us to equip each child to develop their full potential. With wellbeing and kindness at the heart of all we do, we have created a learning environment that allows everyone to thrive and make progress. Our ‘can do’ attitude is a very important aspect of who we are. When faced with challenge we say, ‘I can’t do it yet’ which promotes working hard, developing resilience, problem solving and working creatively to build an enthusiasm for learning.

Snowball is our 'Can do' mascot, reminding us to have a positive mindset in our attitude to learning.
