This term's Learning

 This term our topic is 'Intrepid Explorers'! 

After spending the first few weeks exploring school and getting to know our new friends and routines we will go exploring into the deep, dark woods. Click on the link below to see the lovely stories that we will use to lead our learning.

Regular Weekly Activities

Every day we spend some learning time outdoors and for this we ask that your child always has appropriate outdoor clothes in school.

Given the variable weather, please send your child in with an appropriate coat if the forecast is wet or a sunhat and layer of sun cream if it's going to be hot.

• Thursday 26 June 2025 25 Holly Class Week beginning 23rd June The weeks are whizzing by in Holly Class we take part in and work in preparing for lots of different summer term activities! On Wednesday, it was transition morning and all of the children in school moved to the classes they will be in from September for a few hours. All of the children in Holly class came back from Hawthorn class having had a lovely time and excited for what is to come, it was lovely to see. We will continue to talk about next year and what that means so that the children feel fully prepared come September.

• Friday 13 June 2025 25 Holly Class Week beginning 9th June The sunshine and seaside has arrived in Holly class this week as we begin our new Geography topic, Beside the Seaside. The children have loved spending time in the theatre space in our classroom which is now set up as the beach, a boat and an ice cream shop! The children have also been recapping their knowledge of the countries that make up the UK and sharing their experiences of visiting the seaside. We enjoyed spotting some coastal settlements using google earth and learning about the the geographical features of the beach.

• Friday 28 February 2025 25 Holly Class Week beginning 24th February This week we have been having our own Children's Mental Health week in school. Each day we have checked in with our colour monsters and chatted about how we are feeling at different points throughout the school day. We have watched some clips of Inside Out and and read some lovely books such as 'Ruby's Worry'. This afternoon we also made some helping hands to keep in our draws at school so that the children always have a reminder of who they might chat to if they have a worry or concern.

• Thursday 28 November 2024 2425 Holly Class week beginning 25th November Things are certainly starting to feel festive in Holly Class and our nativity rehearsals are in full swing! The children have been very excited to find our the parts they will be playing and have really impressed us by how quickly they are learning the songs. This week we have also made some beautiful decorations that will be for sale at the Christmas Fayre on Friday 6th December.
