Mr Gumpy's Outing
Mr Gumpy’s Outing is a funny story that features a boat that is so overfull that it tips and the animals fall out! This has led us to experiment with floating and sinking, looking at different materials, their buoyancy and the amount of weight that they can hold. We have also used this as a basis to our phonics and have been pracitising using our robot voices to identify the different animals that are on the boat.
Our 30 Days Wild focus has been on our senses and we have made a rainbow out of coloured petals, smelt different aromatic plants, listened to the sounds on the playing field, made bark rubbings and tasted elderflower cordial. On Thursday, most of our Nursery 2 children had a taster session in Holly Class. They all behaved impeccably and had a good time.
Work has continued on our Father’s Day gifts and cards. The children have taken great pride in their work and we wish you all (particular our Daddies) a very happy weekend!
