Shaping Bright Futures Together

Willow wb 14.07.25

We have had a very busy final week in Willow class! We have enjoyed learning all about Alan Turing and his contributions to code breaking messages during World War 2. We discovered that he was a fascinating individual who was a very skilled mathematician and scientist but also athletic, even qualifying for the British Olympic marathon team. He is known as one of the founders of modern computing and without his designs, WW2 may have continued for a longer period of time. We enjoyed having a go at cracking some coded messages and represented key information about his life in a poster. The children also enjoyed playing a board game with a WW2 theme as well as completing our final thinking squares of the year to record what we have learnt.

We are really proud of all of the children's achievements this academic year and they have worked incredibly hard. We hope you enjoy looking through their work books which came home yesterday, sharing the pieces that they are really proud of. We wish everyone a fantastic summer break and look forward to welcoming the children back into school in September. A reminder that all children have access to login details for the online reading challenge and we hope to see them continuing to enjoy these resources. We are already doing well on the leader board.
