Shaping Bright Futures Together

2526 Acorn & Holly wb 23rd March

What a lovely week we have had! This week we have embraced the better weather and been focusing our learning on the story ‘Sam plants a Sunflower’. We have enjoyed exploring the different parts of plants including stems, leaves, roots and petals. We have also been busy planting our own sunflowers, using string to predict how tall we think our flowers will grow. We have been trying to use the vocabulary of longer and shorter to help compare our predictions, as length and height has been our maths focus this week.

We enjoyed a trip to Forest School on Tuesday as Miss Hunt wanted to see our incredible new Forest School site. She was blown away by the children’s amazing knowledge and behaviour. We were able to spot some signs of spring including some buds, daffodils and some blossom. We also enjoyed planting some bulbs while we were there.

We have also enjoyed exploring the Christian celebration of Easter and worked incredibly hard on our performance for Ashton’s Easter celebration. We hope that the children have a wonderful Easter break and look forward to seeing them back in school in two weeks time.
