Friday 13 February 2026 2526 Acorn and Holly week beginning 9th February What a wet few weeks we've had! We have tried to make the most of the wet weather and embrace it as part of our learning, we have enjoyed singing in the rain, taking cover under umbrellas and making art with wet chalk. In our outdoor learning sessions we have been bird spotting and making bird feeders from apples. We had a brilliant forest school session a couple of weeks ago with Miss Young where we used big branches from around the orchard site to build a boat, made willow fish and had fun making the Lighthouse Keeper's lunch in a picnic basket to send along a rope to each other.

Thursday 13 November 2025 2526 Willow wb 10.11.25 This half term, Willow class has been busy exploring the wonderful world of plants. We learned all about the different parts of a plant and their important functions. To help us understand better, we even dissected a flower to see its parts up close. It was fascinating to spot the petals, stamens, and tiny seeds for ourselves! One of our favourite experiments was learning about the role of the stem. We placed flowers in coloured water and watched as the food dye travelled up the stem, changing the colour of the petals. It was amazing to see how plants transport water! Next half term, we'll be moving on to an exciting new science topic, States of Matter. We'll be learning about solids, liquids, and gases, and discovering how materials can change from one state to another.
