Willow wb 20.04.26
This week, Willow Class have been exploring the use of different tenses in our writing lessons. We have been learning about the past progressive and present progressive, linking our work to the text Leon and the Place Between. We have written diary entries and descriptive pieces to apply our understanding. We worked hard to include the correct tenses in our writing and to make our ideas engaging for the reader.
In maths, we have been learning to read scales in both grams and kilograms, as well as calculating equivalent masses. We have been practising carefully to make sure we can convert between units and read measurements accurately. As always, we continue to develop our speed and accuracy with our times tables too!
Our new topic for this half term is called Raging Rivers. We began by reflecting on our knowledge of the water cycle and how rivers are created. We then used atlases to name and locate rivers in the United Kingdom. In French, we began learning how to describe the weather and created a fortune teller to practise our new vocabulary.
We have also welcomed back our student teacher Miss Clawson who is with us for her final placement this term.
