At Ashton First School we encourage full attendance and punctuality on the part of all pupils and their parents. The school will monitor trends and patterns of absence for all pupils as a part of standard procedures.

If your child is ill or unexpectedly absent from school, please ring the school office no later than 9am on the first day of absence.

In line with DfE expectations only very exceptional circumstances will warrant an authorised leave of absence. The school will review each application individually, considering the specific facts and circumstances and relevant background context behind the request. An Absence Request Form can be requested from the school office.

Parents should note their responsibilities in informing school of any planned or unplanned absence following the procedures outlined in the Attendance Policy.
